Son Ca: Happy to be with you, Spiffy! While over 4 billion people around the world have access to the internet, there is a massive shortage of software engineers to build new applications. Today, there are only 24.5 million software engineers globally. While 90% of the world accesses the internet on mobile devices, there is no simple or affordable option for entrepreneurs around the world to build a mobile app to scale their businesses. That's why we built Alta, an AI-powered tool to build mobile apps without code. We seek to promote inclusive economic growth and productive employment by growing and supporting the next generation of no-code app developers.
Allie: Glad to be with you, Spiffy! ETTA stands for Earthlings Taking to Action. We are significantly reducing the carbon impact and waste of the fashion industry through AI and omni-reality technologies. Did you know that 10% of carbon emissions come from the fashion industry?
Isabelle: Glad to be with you, Spiffy! At the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, we envision a world where all learners are prepared to thrive in a dynamic future. Sadly, we are in the midst of the largest learning crisis of our lifetime. We need to accelerate quality and equitable solutions that make a positive difference for all learners, starting early in life and throughout the lifelong learning journey. We also need to accelerate collaborations, as none of us can do it alone. Last, we need to accelerate the dissemination of scientific knowledge into practices, inside of classrooms, and wherever learning takes place. This is precisely what the Stanford Accelerator for Learning is working on to pave the way for breakthrough impact for all learners.
