Alissa: Great to be here, Spiffy! The Drivers Cooperative is a driver-owned ride-hailing cooperative in New York City. Drivers make more on each trip, all profits go back to drivers, and drivers have democratic control over the decisions that affect their lives. Our mission is to end exploitative conditions in the for-hire vehicle industry through system change—putting drivers in the driver’s seat of the platform economy.

Ross: It’s great to be here, Spiffy! Inspired by nature's remarkable ability to reuse "waste", TômTex are working to build next-generation sustainable materials sourced directly from waste. Our first product, aimed at the leather market, is made from seafood wastes like shrimp or crab shells, and is 100% bio-based with no plastics or petrochemical components. We believe in a future where our clothing, accessories and other materials are circular, sustainable, and sophisticated nature-inspired biomaterials.

At Copper Wire Ventures, we are trying to support and encourage women entrepreneurs by closing the gap in venture capital funding that women-led technology receives.  Currently companies with female founders only receive about 2% of the venture capital available to build new companies, and we want to change that!
